The Gallant Sir Buck Knight Arrives

This week Jason and Andy open talking about the inflamed right knee of C.C. Sabathia. Andy laments Starling Marte’s tight back, Andrew McCutchen’s sore left foot and Pedro Alvarez’s woeful batting average. Jason discusses the Indians starting rotation, Yan Gomes’ defensive struggles and Carlos Santana’s tremendous on-base percentage. The gang finishes up with a  discussion of compound word etiquette and the newest mascot of the Erie SeaWolves, Sir Buck Knight.

The Polanco Plight

This week Dr. Garrett stops by to run down all the injuries for the Tri-State clubs including Jason Kipnis, Jason Grilli, Russell Martin and Wandy Rodriguez. Next, Jason takes all of the Indians struggles and condenses them down to just three problems before Andy dissects the Pirates early season struggles. Finally the guys wade into a debate about whether or not the Pirates should bite the bullet and call up top prospect Gregory Polanco before wrapping up with another SeaWolves shout-out.

Michael Pineda's Sticky Situation

This week Andy and Jason discuss Michael Pineda's sticky situation in New York. Then Andy swoons over Gregory Polanco, discusses Starling Marte's struggles as well as Carlos Gomez's etiquette, or lack thereof. Jason congratulates Cleveland on being 11-11 despite their rough start. He highlights their poor play defensively, but not wanting to be a negative Nancy, does some swooning of his own over The Chiz Kid. Finally, the gang wraps up with a SeaWolves shout-out that has yet to hit the ground.

Volquez Returns Jason's Volley

This week Andy and Jason discuss booing Ryan Braun. Then Jason discusses all the contract extensions in Cleveland, Trevor Bauer and his return to the clubhouse and finishes up with all the roster moves at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario. Andy then discusses the Hurdle and Huntington extensions, Edinson Volquez proving Jason wrong and the terrible news that Jameson Taillon will undergo Tommy John surgery. They conclude with a SeaWolves shout-out and salute the "Thunder from Down-Under" Warwick Saupold.

2014 Prospect Spectacular

In this annual special edition of Tri-State at the Plate the guys get together to talk prospects. Andy and Staff Writer Chris Bradley tackle the Pirates system and they dig deep to go beyond the usual mention of Jameson Taillon and Gregory Polanco to discuss guys like Reese McGuire, Alen Hanson, Gift Ngoepe and Wyatt Mathisen as well as some of Andy's personal favorites like Adalberto Santos and Stetson Allie. Jason tackles the Indians system and after a group discussion on Francisco Lindor and Clint Frazier he digs into the Tribe's system to discuss guys like Francisco Mejia, Dace Kime, Cody Anderson, Kyle Crockett and even Silento Sayles. T-Plush Gets A Visa

This week Andy records the entire podcast while watching the 2013 NL Wildcard game in his basement. He's envious of the stars and stripes blazers that the Red Sox players will wear to the White House this year. He opens up by discussing the Starling Marte contract extension, the first base situation, the contagious injury bug and successful Jaff's in world history. Jason then discusses the hot corner in Cleveland, the return of T-Plush to the USA and Cleveland's roster construction.

Our Pitcher's Arms Are Falling Off!

This week Andy and Jason start off the podcast by discussing protective headgear for pitchers after the Aroldis Chapman line drive. Then Jason talks about Michael Bourn's hamstring and the fifth spot in the Indians rotation. Andy then discusses the pitching situation in Pittsburgh and the catchers that could be on the move. They conclude with a preview of upcoming articles on the website and set the stage for the 2nd Annual Prospect Spectacular.

A Volley Against Volquez

In this week's episode Andy and Jason discuss potential for Ervin "The Big Erv" Santana and his draft pick compensation. Then Andy talks about how much he loves Jameson Tallion, Starling Marte and Gregory Polanco before Jason drags him back to earth with talk of Edinson Volquez. Jason discusses the decision to slot Danny Salazar in as the fifth starter and a stellar spring from Tribe starting pitchers. Finally, Andy talks about the former and future Erie SeaWolves that are in Detroit Tigers camp.

Burned by Burnett

This week Andy and Jason discuss the merits of a 6 year, $105 million contract for David Dewitt Bailey, a.k.a. Homer. Jason closes the arbitration cases in Cleveland, discusses Carlos Santana at third and sheds a tear (a tiny tear) for Ubaldo Jimenez. Then Andy discusses being spurned by Allan James Burnett, a.k.a. A.J., further discusses how he needs to apologize to Pedro Alvarez and wraps up by discussing the impact Pirates prospects need to make in 2014. Finally Andy and Jason get up on their respective soapboxes about the positives and negatives of the qualifying offer system.

Pony Up Now

This week Andy and Jason discuss a potential All-Star game at the base of Mt. Rushmore. Then Jason discusses the Justin Masterson extension and Ubaldo Jimenez’s potential return to Cleveland.  Andy calmly discusses A.J. Burnett before Jason makes him look at Edinson Volquez’s numbers, which makes Andy sick to his stomach and forces him to re-evaluate his life.
